Sammy & Mikki at The Gardens at Bullimah

One of the best parts about being a wedding photographer in Australia is getting to travel and capture love stories in breathtaking locations — and Sammy & Mikki’s wedding at The Gardens at Bullimah in Albany, WA was an absolute dream.

As a Perth-based wedding photographer, I travel all over Western Australia (and beyond!) to shoot weddings, and this one down south was a total standout. Coastal views, lush gardens, and a heartfelt ceremony set the tone for a day filled with timeless style and feel-good energy.

A Classic Black & White Garden Wedding

Sammy & Mikki’s garden party-style wedding was held in Albany, a beautiful coastal town in WA’s Great Southern region. Their wedding venue, The Gardens at Bullimah, is one of Albany’s most iconic wedding locations — surrounded by greenery, with a perfect mix of natural beauty and refined elegance.

The couple’s black and white wedding styling gave the whole day a clean, modern, and timeless vibe. Mikki wore an effortlessly elegant gown from @grace_loves_lace_, and Sammy looked sharp in a classic black suit from @ferrari_formalwear_and_bridal.

Their ceremony, delivered by the ever-warm and wonderful @wedding.sal.ebrant, had everyone smiling, laughing, and getting a little misty-eyed. @flowersbydanae created the most stunning white-on-white floral arrangements, with soft greens woven throughout for a romantic touch.

Overcast Skies, Beautiful Light

Although we didn’t get blazing sun, the soft overcast skies gave us the dreamiest light all day — diffused, creamy, and perfect for photos. Albany turned it on in its own way, and it made for a relaxed and intimate vibe throughout the entire celebration.

While I captured all the still moments, @joshball_weddings worked his magic on video. Live music by @siboneyandandyfloated through the gardens as guests mingled and enjoyed canapés and cocktails.

The team at @the_gardens_at_bullimah served up the most delicious catering, with seasonal produce and local flavours that had guests going back for seconds. Hair and makeup were beautifully styled by @karliqueforhair and @carissamakeupandbeauty, and the stunning cake from @thebakingboutique_byamy was the cherry on top.
