Hayley & Mitchell’s Nikola Estate wedding

I couldn’t wait to be back at Nikola Estate for Hayley and Mitchell’s wedding. The whole day was the perfect mix of laid back and elegant, with classic black and white styling, lush green lawns, white roses and plinths that looked straight out of a magazine. The bridesmaids wore a mix of sage green and soft blue which added the prettiest touch of colour.

It was also such a full circle moment for me because I actually photographed one of the groomsmen’s weddings a while back. It was so lovely seeing my previous couple again and catching up with familiar faces. Days like this remind me how special it is to be invited back into my couples’ lives — it honestly felt like celebrating with old friends.

Effortless Elegance

Hayley and Mitch created a day that felt timeless yet completely relaxed. The boys looked sharp in their classic black suits, the girls glowed in their soft toned dresses, and everything came together perfectly against the backdrop of Nikola Estate. This Swan Valley wedding venue is one of my all-time favourites. The rolling green lawns, the heritage architecture and that golden Perth light always make it a dream to photograph.

Their ceremony was led by the lovely Kristy Whittaker from Wed With Whit, surrounded by stunning white roses by Alisha Bisgrove of Bohemian Flower Collective. The styling was simple and modern, with clean lines and romantic details that let the venue shine. It was elegant without ever feeling overdone — the perfect balance for a modern Perth wedding.

The Laid Back Love Story

Even though the day looked like it belonged on the pages of a bridal magazine, the atmosphere was completely relaxed. Hayley and Mitch spent the day laughing with their bridal party, soaking in the sunshine and just being themselves. Every part of it felt real and genuine, which always makes for the best photos.

As a Perth wedding photographer, this is exactly why I love what I do. You can plan every detail perfectly, but the true magic comes from the moments you don’t script — the hugs, the laughter, the stolen glances and happy tears. Hayley and Mitchell had all of that and more.

The Perfect Ending

As the sun began to set behind the vines, Alana Fay Music set the tone for the evening with her beautiful live tunes before switching it up for a night of dancing. The candles flickered, the wine flowed and the whole night felt warm and joyful.

Hayley and Mitchell’s wedding was the perfect blend of timeless styling and laid back energy, proof that a classic black and white wedding will never go out of style. The day was full of love, laughter and so many special moments — I honestly didn’t want it to end.
